Join Working Gear for an inspirational evening of networking, drinks, food and fundraising. Working Gear is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver focused on providing men with working attire. Work Gear assists local men including refugees, new immigrants, recovering addicts, and aboriginal youth, seeking to re-enter the workforce with interview-appropriate attire (suits, shirts, dress shoe) and construction gear (steel-toe boots, hard hats). Working Gear works with government agencies (e.g. WorkBC, MOSAIC, etc.) and local community groups (e.g. YMCA, UGM) in serving its mission. www.workinggear.ca
This year’s event is of even greater importance given the recent flooding of Working Gear’s facility due to heavy snowfall and its search for a new home. Working Gear’s goal is to raise $50,000 to find a new location for the next three years and help hundreds more men re-enter the workforce.
