VBA Presents: A Conversation with Dr. Hadiya Roderique, author of “Black on Bay Street”

The Vancouver Bar Association is excited to present A Conversation with Dr. Hadiya Roderique, author of “Black on Bay Street” on August 17, 2020 between 12:00 and 1:30 PM. This session will take place over Zoom and is CPD Eligible (Ethics & Professionalism credit pending).
Dr. Hadiya Roderique is a researcher, lecturer, speaker, broadcast commentator, and former Bay Street employment and human rights lawyer. An award-winning writer, she is a frequent contributor to newspapers, magazines, and panels on issues related to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with bylines in The Walrus, The National Post, The Report on Business, and Macleans amongst others. She is most well known for her viral piece “Black on Bay Street”, a cover story for The Globe and Mail which outlined her experiences as a young Black woman working in a Bay Street firm.
This event is FREE for VBA members (email vanessa.williams@blakes.com to register). It is $35 for non-members and comes with a free VBA membership for eligible individuals.
